Thus, Shizuoka Prefecture is situated in a location complete with infrastructure for air, land and sea transportation convenient for moving people, materials and culture.

June 4, 2009, Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport will be opened on the Makinohara Highland near the center of Shizuoka Prefecture. International flight services mainly connecting with Asian countries such as Korea and China and domestic flights connecting with remote places will be started. It will be possible to get to Hokkaido on the northern end of Japan , Okinawa on the southern end of Japan and Seoul in about 2 hours. Thus, travel to overseas and domestic cities will be shortened.

・Tomei Expressway: Major expressway for distribution in Japan, running through Tokyo, Kanagawa, Shizuoka and Aichi

Sea transportation
There are 15 ports and harbors in the prefecture. Above all, Shimizu Port and Omaezaki port, as international container handling ports, actively trade with countries around the world. There is also ferryboat service across Suruga Bay that is helpful in daily life.
